Palm has announced a new open beta development application called Ares. The dev app is completely browser based and allows the development of apps for web OS devices. The IEEE has started working on a new cell phone battery standard. The standard is called IEEE Std 1725 and the first meeting on the topic will be held in February. According to the source the device is thin, uses a 4GB microSD card, has a 1400mAh battery, has an OLED screen, works on T-Mobile in the US, and it will have no 3G an AT&T.
