AT&T and HP Introduce HP iPAQ Glisten

HP announced that its new HP iPAQ Glisten smartphone will soon be available from AT&T. The iPAQ Glisten targets the business power user as it features rich 3G world phone. AT&T’s first smartphone with an AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) screen, the HP iPAQ Glisten is loaded with features tailored with the business power user in mind. The Glisten is equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard and the improved Internet Explorer 6, which features Adobe Flash support built-in. It is also compatible with Microsoft’s Windows Marketplace application store. The speakerphone equipped iPAQ Glisten also features Voice Commander, an app that handles not only voice dialing and command, but can also read email and text messages to the user, as well as announce calendar appointments. A Facebook app is pre-installed on the phone, and HP even includes its own HP Photosmart photo editing software. The iPAQ Glisten Windows Mobile 6.5 OS and a 3.1-megapixel camera. Users can easily move between work and leisure with advanced mobile e-mail capabilities, built-in Wi-Fi and GPS functionality as well as rich multimedia features and applications. AT&T supports Windows Marketplace for Mobile for access to a variety of applications.The HP iPAQ Glisten will be available “in the coming weeks” priced at $229.99 after a $50 rebate and assuming a new, two-year agreement.
