Apple App Store passed 3 billion downloads mark
Apple announced that its App Store passed the 3 billion downloads mark – only 18 months since it was launched (in the summer of 2008). With the occasion of this announcement, Steve Jobs kind of dissed the competition (Google’s Android platform included) by saying: “The revolutionary App Store offers iPhone and iPod touch users an experience unlike anything else available on other mobile devices, and we see no signs of the competition catching up anytime soon.”
