Apple is becoming stronger and stronger in the smartphone world. And on the other hand Nokia and RIM are slipping down from the peak. So the result, Apple has managed to step over RIM’s shoulders to take the number two spot in the smartphone world with 17.3% of the market share. RIM, however, isn’t too far behind with 15.2% and climbing with anticipation of the Storm’s release mounting. Nokia’s broad portfolio of models, and the wider audience it attracts, does leave it more exposed to the trends affecting the overall handset market. In other words, Nokia needs to come up with something CRAZY and COOL sonn enough before someone else goes for the number 1 spot.
