Default How to Use Tmobiles Myfaves Plan with a Non MyFaves Phone

Myfaves is tmobiles new look and that’s what they are advertising mostly. It launched last year and from the very beginning I was wondering “Is it somehow possible to get MyFaves working on unlocked or a Non Myfaves phones?” And so far I have the following:

Since the only difference with using a MyFaves phone instead of a non-MyFaves phone is that you can manage your 5 contacts directly from your phone (whereas you can't with a non-MyFaves phone). Tmobile will make you to buy MyFaves phone with myfaves plan, but the only difference between the MyFaves and non-Myfaves phones is the Java application which allows you to manage numbers from your phone with convenience.

But if you think it really doesn’t HAVE TO be a MyFaves phones to use a myfaves service. Regardless of your phone, you can always manage your contracts online through MyTmobile.com, or call 611 and have a CSR change them for you (although you may encounter a rep that asks you why you can't change them from your "MyFaves" phone that you are supposed to get/use after signing up). You can also manage from your phone. Go to T-Zones > My Account > Plan and Services > Manage MyFaves. It works fine on my unbranded Nokia N73.

I actually talked to a CSR about using a non t-mobile phone, because I got my phone unlocked and she told me that it doesn't what phone you have. You don't have to have a myfaves phone to get the unlimited 5 calls. She said that the bubbles are basically there for convenience. She also went on to say that I should check my bill to make sure. But all you have to do is keep track of what numbers are in your myfaves and your set.

Now, the next question is how you want to make sure that it really works. Just call the CS and have them switch your plan to Myfaves plans and then if you log in to tmobile's website you can see your current usage under the Call Type column, look for (F) which is mobile to mobile. I believe it's updated 4-6 times a day.

I have met/talked/know a lot of tmobile customers who are using Myfaves plan with out having non Myfaves phone. Let us know your opinion.
