DOs & DON'Ts for SPRINT ROAMING
|
|
On most Sprint devices, roaming can be achieved one of two ways: by allowing automatic roaming ("Automatic") or by forcing roaming ("Roaming only").
To avoid a termination letter and to maintain the liberal roaming policies we all enjoy, please keep the following principles in mind.
*DO allow automatic roaming if you are temporarily at a location w/ no Sprint coverage.
*DO force roaming if you are temporarily at a location w/ weak but unstable/unusable Sprint coverage.
*DO force roaming when traveling by land transportation before initiating your call if the length of your call will extend beyond the boundary of Sprint coverage.
*DON'T allow automatic roaming or force roaming if you are at a location (home, office, school) where you use a lot of airtime. You should instead consider another wireless provider w/ better coverage at that important location.
*DON'T allow automatic roaming if you have moved outside of the Sprint coverage area. You should instead consider another wireless provider w/ coverage at your new location.
*DON'T force roaming for all or much of your use so that you can pay Sprint SERO prices for VZW, ALLTEL, or USCC coverage. That is akin to paying McDonald's to eat at Burger King. You should instead consider another wireless provider, specifically the one on which you prefer to always roam.
*DON'T With Customer Service don't call too often-- especially if you are calling for non-issues like fishing for a deal. At least one person claims to have been canceled due to having a history of calling "too often" whatever that was.
i.e. Roaming may be free to you, but your carrier does pay roaming fees for your use. They simply won't tolerate what they consider to be abuse.
