If you want to make ringers on your card using the "3g2 rename method" try the following step by step method and trust me you can do it.
Things you need:
Audacity
Micro SD, TF card
M610
any sound file supported by audacity
LAME decoder (used to export the audio to mp3, otherwise you need to use iTunes to convert it to mp3 from wav)
Before you begin, open a windows window and select Tools>>Folder Options...
go to the View Tab and UNCHECK the hide extensions for known file types box
1. Find the song you want and copy it to your desktop
2. Launch Audacity and drag the audio file into audicity
3. Use the Beam like tool (located at the top left corner of the toolbar) to seleect the 25-40 second chunk of audio you want for the ringer
4. select Edit >> Trim.
5. (If LAME is present) select File>>Export As MP3, and select the destination to be the Desktop. name the file anything without spaces .3g2
for example: SongILove.3g2
thats it, dont do anything else. just click press enter and a warning dialog should appear telling you that the format may not work, that is fine. just drag that puppy to the same directory on your card as the pictures /DCIM/100(iforget)
5. (if Lame is NOT present) select file>>Export as wav, and save it to the desktop. name it something short and without spaces and launch iTunes or whatever you know how to use for an MP3 converter.
-In iTunes, choose Edit>>Preferences>>advanced tab>>importing>>mp3 @ 128 kbs. hit ok
-Drag your wav file into iTunes, right click and choose "convert selection to mp3"
-When that completes, drag the mp3 version to your desktop, right click, rename
-Replace ".mp3" with ".3g2" and drag to the same directory on the card as mentioned above.
Hope this helped you
