Default How to get a Replacement CD for Palm

Palm handhelds and Treos include a CD in the original package. Occasionally we misplace or damage them. Sometimes a used or open box unit is purchased or passed along and has no CD. What should you do?

A generic version of Palm Desktop (including Desktop PIMs and Hotsync) is available as a free download at palm.com/us/support. Users in Europe, Middle East and Africa select your language and device model at http://euro.palm.com/europe/en/support/index.html. Users in Asia Pacific (including Australia) should follow a URL similar to this example for Singapore: http://www.palm.com/sg/support/downloads/. Users in Latin America, www.palm.com/latin/soporte/. There are different versions for Windows (Palm Desktop or Outlook Synchronization) and Mac.

Select your Palm model, OS, and Outlook if appropriate; you will be directed to the appropriate download. ActiveSync is also available for Treo 700w users. If your computer runs Mac OS9 or earlier or Windows other than 2000 or XP Home/Pro, there may not be a download available. This table outlines unsupported OSes by device model.

These downloads do not include any bonus software or contain Palm Desktop features available only on certain models, such as Photos, Media, and Voice Recorder. Non-PIM Desktop features and their associated Hotsync Conduits for specific models are available only on the original CD. Please do not ask Brighthand members to email or host copies of these files as both of you will be violating Palm's End User License Agreement (EULA) and Brighthand policies. Posting links to these files on other sites can result in moderation of your post.

It is not possible for Palm to provide additional copies of bonus software, such as Documents to Go or various games. These were licensed by Palm for delivery on the CD solely to the original purchaser. Should you require these third-party applications, please purchase the software from the developer.

At this time there is no download available for the following models: TX, Z22 and Treo680. If you have either of these models and need a replacement CD, telephone Palm Customer Support.

Palm will sell replacement CDs, by telephone only, to customers who have registered their device with Palm and who can verify their serial number. You will need a credit card to cover the cost of the CD and shipping. Supplies are limited to "current" handhelds. This CD from Palm Customer Support is identical to the CD packaged with the unit unless it is a special or limited edition model. Please do not ask Brighthand members for copies of the CD or to host a ROM image as this violates both Palm's EULA and Brighthand policies.
