Default The i835 Slim seems pretty good

I saw some bad reviews out there, such as poor battery life, bad reception, etc. But this one has none of those problems. The battery life is better than i415, i455 and i930, even though the battery is thinner, especially when I turn the backlight always off. With the backlight off, I can do Operamini, gmail for a hour and the battery is still full. However, as soon as I turn the light on, the battery goes down like crazy. The good part is, the screen is adequately readable as long as the ambient lighting is present.

Compared to i415/455, the screen is the same resolution, but bigger and is TFT vs. STN, more crispy. The screen is more readable, with light on or off. All the features are the same, it is basically a slimmer and metal version of i455, in every aspects. Reception is better, so is call quality. i930 has so far the best SQ.

This phone is the only iden phone that is comfortable in my pocket. This is the whole point of it. The battery lasts for at least a whole day of busy push mail and operamini (when light off).

At the same $100 price, the i855 is more powerful with a much larger screen. Unfortunately, it is much bulkier and the screen is not readable at all when light off (please correct me if I'm wrong on this). The whole point about this phone is the large screen found in hi-end iden phones. Beside that, it also has more PDA-alike j2me features, such as JSR 75 that allows you to sync data such as google calendar with i855.

The bottom line: if I need a slim phone that I can carry all the time with comfy and get my daily job done, it is the i835; if I need more PDA-alike features, it is the i855; if neither of these are important to me, the i415/455 do all the things just fine. If I'll spend $300 for the i885, I'd rather get an i930, unless I need bluetooth and only if the i885 has much better battery life.

P.S.. i835's keyboard light sensor is done right. It lights up only when it is really dark. The sensor on i455 and i930 are too wrong and the light go on too early - almost always on.
