Default AT&T improves it Customer service by JD Powers

AT&T Inc.'s mobile service, formerly known as Cingular Wireless, finished second at 101 points, edging out Verizon Wireless for the first time since J.D. Power began the wireless surveys three years ago. AT&T (T : AT&T Inc has the most mobile customers in the U.S., serving 63.7 million subscribers

"The big news is the improvement by AT&T"

In the past few years, AT&T has reduced its churn level -- the percentage of customers who quit service -- to a company-low 1.2% from more than 2% in the valuable postpaid category. Postpaid subscribers sign up for annual plans and pay at the end of each month.

AT&T's mark is not far off from Verizon Wireless and its industry-leading 0.9% rate in the postpaid category.
