It's sad, but it's true. As an employee I spent a lot of time deciding what I wanted to do about the iPhone. To be sure about what discounts and such we are/were able to get, the person that wrote to the consumerist should have contacted our employee accounts department where they would have been able to get him a 100% answer. It's a crappy thing to be stuck in the situation that he is.
The thing that was the deal breaker for me about the iPhone is that it's not even 3G. It's running on the same EDGE network that my 8125 is running on. And really, I couldn't justify $600 for a phone that had a little better web browser (which still runs at the same speed as my current one), and that it could sense when I was turning my hand sideways and it would automatically orient my display.
