HOTMAIL PROBLEM ON MY iPHONE!!!

Hello,
I followed the above instructions and they worked in the sense that I can now retrieve my hotmail mail after signing up for hotmail plus. The problem is that I cannot send outgoing mail??? This is the message that comes up "Cannot Send Mail - The connection to the outgoing server 'smtp.live.com' failed" So this is a big issue for me!!! Someone PLEASE help me out I would greatly appreciate it!!!
